Progress through participation

Schools learning and improving together.

SENN provides a continuing structure for school collaboration within SENI. Schools join through their state network and become part of the national network through one registration process.

Pioneer Member Schools help establish the network, share implementation experience and demonstrate practical use to other interested schools. They do not automatically govern other schools in their LGA.

Admission is based on capability

The minimum smart education standard

01

A functional website

A live, secure and current school website, with accurate information, working contact routes and a clear portal link.

02

A working school portal

Role-based access, learner and staff records, classes, subjects, sessions, terms and school communication.

03

Secure results management

A demonstrated workflow for assessment, calculations, approval, publication, private access and controlled corrections.

04

Evidence of practical use

School-controlled accounts, current academic setup, responsible operators, technical support and usable backup or export arrangements.

05

A named coordinator

An authorised school contact who participates in orientation, keeps communication current and coordinates implementation.

06

Commitment to improvement

Acceptance of network standards, agreed state targets, peer learning and proportionate progress reviews.

SEMS or another platform may qualify. Scores cannot replace missing mandatory functions. Membership is confirmed only after verification and the authorised admission process.

What participation offers

Shared learning

Exchange practical experience with other schools and contribute to State Smart Education Forums.

A structured improvement pathway

Use the minimum standard, readiness review and school action plan to guide implementation.

Connections and opportunities

Receive information on confirmed partner opportunities, resources and activities. Availability and separate service terms are disclosed.

Membership does not guarantee free equipment, funding, accreditation or a particular paid service. Training schedules and partner offers are confirmed as they become available.

From expression of interest to membership

  1. Express interest. Recognised public, private and faith-based primary and secondary schools provide their campus details, LGA and readiness.
  2. Verify the standard. The state team checks institutional eligibility and arranges a supervised website, portal and results demonstration.
  3. Resolve gaps. Schools still preparing receive the requirements needed to qualify. They may choose any suitable provider.
  4. Select the pioneer cohort. Qualified applicants are considered within each LGA through the same process for open and direct invitations.
  5. Confirm and participate. Selected schools complete the participation commitment, receive their membership reference and agree their first-term plan.

One qualified Pioneer Member School will be selected per LGA. If no school qualifies, the place remains open. Other interested schools may be considered as membership expands.

Selection dates and the final assessment timetable will be announced separately. Expressing interest now does not establish priority or guarantee selection.

Questions schools ask

Is membership really free?

Yes. There is no joining, annual membership, renewal or routine qualification-verification fee. Separately purchased services retain their own terms.

Must our school use SEMS?

No. Any platform that meets the verified SENN minimum standard may qualify.

Can we apply while improving our systems?

Yes. Express interest and identify the gaps. Membership can be confirmed only after the requirements are met.

Does a direct invitation guarantee a place?

No. Both invitation routes use the same qualification and selection process.

What is a Smart Education Forum?

It is the network’s convening platform for dialogue, peer learning and programme feedback. Dates and participation details will be announced.
