Before selecting technology, schools need a clear understanding of the educational needs they want to address, the resources already available and the support required for meaningful use.

Identify the problem before the product

Strong implementation starts with educational purpose. School leaders can identify pressing needs in lesson preparation, practical learning, school administration, learner access or communication before deciding which services or technologies may be suitable.

Review readiness honestly

Readiness involves staff capability, leadership commitment, relevant learning resources, current equipment, power, connectivity, information security and a realistic approach to continuing support. Some institutions may need to begin with training or records preparation rather than equipment acquisition.

Build around people and learning

Teachers should be involved in planning classroom use. Learners and families also have different access needs, which should shape the choice of materials and technologies. Institutions can then combine selected SENI programmes in ways that suit their priorities.

Plan for ongoing support

Equipment, software and digital services need dependable maintenance, orientation, user support and budget clarity. A gradual, supported approach makes it easier to review early challenges before extending implementation.

School leaders can use the SENI Adamawa readiness checklist to prepare a first discussion or explore the participation pathways.
